LXC containers
Proxmox LXC containers share the host kernel while isolating services. Recorded roles include NAS, media, DNS, VPN, photos, monitoring, AI, wiki, and Git.
Example: inspect an LXC
pct list
pct config 105
pct exec 105 -- hostname -I
Example: create a new Debian container
In the Proxmox UI: Create CT → choose an unused ID → select a downloaded Debian template → allocate CPU, memory, disk, and network → start. For Docker-in-LXC, enable the nesting feature and assess security tradeoffs. Prefer an unprivileged container where compatible.
For this website, use CT 110 only if that ID is free. Reserve its intended IP address before deployment.
