Welcome to Steve's Homelab

This website documents a real Proxmox-based self-hosting project: its architecture, hardware, storage, containers, and configuration patterns. It is written for readers who want to understand what each component does, how it connects, and how to reproduce a similar setup.

Publication note: The inventory reflects recorded configuration snapshots, not a live audit. IPs and hardware identifiers are illustrative for learning; verify your own environment before running commands.

Read in order

  1. Architecture — understand the moving parts.
  2. Hardware — review the physical setup.
  3. LXC containers — learn how services are isolated.
  4. YAML basics — read configuration files.
  5. Docker Compose — run an example.
  6. Security — publish without leaking secrets.

This public site intentionally does not expose Proxmox, NAS, private DNS, management consoles, VPN keys, or real configuration secrets.
